A social experiment

Today, after I posted all of those pictures and tagged people I knew, I started to get an abnormal amount of facebook adds. This is only because they were lurking people who were tagged and decided to check out my profile and subsequently add me for whatever reason. This has sparked some interest in me. In the spirit of the holidays, I will be accepting all adds on facebook for the next week. After a week I will weigh out who has spoken to me, and their reasoning for adding me. Then I will most likely delete them all.

I just don’t see why a stranger would want to add me even though I have all of my photos open to the general public. It confuses me even more to see people not even try to make real contact with me. So lets see how this turns out. Today I received 7 adds, I accepted 6, but to be fair I will go and add back that 1 person (This was before I thought about doing this). I only knew 1 person that added me.

The funny part will be to see none of the people who add me notice this blog and see that I am only accepting them as an experiment.

I think up stupid things when I am tired, but in the words of Tobias Funke, “LET THE EXPERIMENT BEGIN!”

BREAKING NEWS: one of the adds I received was a mistake as the person was apparently looking for another fellow named Ernie who lives in Ontario that is in a Punkcore band. Upon deleting this person, my add count is down to 6 for today.

I’m so glad I’m almost entirely out of the social networking trend. I have a twitter, which admittedly was started for me to keep in touch with about five people. But due to the website I’m now accepting most anyone. However, out of all of them, this one is the most minimalistic and low maintenance. So I’ll give myself that.

I’m bored and don’t understand the thoughts going through peoples heads when they try to add me and then not talk to me. I’m bored and want to see what will happen from accepting these people.

Only one week? That doesn’t sound sufficient đŸ˜›
